Beyond the Dashboard: What Connectivity Really Means for UAE Drivers
Chery’s CarLinko app is now on its Super Hybrid line-up in the UAE: lock, windows, sunroof and pre-cooling from your phone, plus a button that makes the car beep when you can’t remember which level of the mall car park you left it on. The interesting part comes near the end, where Chery raises data privacy itself, then doesn’t say how it handles yours.

It’s a familiar scene in any UAE mall car park on a Friday afternoon: rows of similar-looking SUVs, the heat rising off the asphalt, arms full of shopping bags, and a moment spent trying to recall which level you parked on. For a growing number of Chery owners in the UAE, that moment now ends with a glance at their phone rather than a long walk between rows.
Connectivity has quietly become one of the defining battlegrounds in modern mobility. Performance, efficiency and design still matter, but increasingly, the way drivers interact with their vehicles between journeys is shaping how an ownership experience actually feels day to day. With the rollout of the CarLinko app across its Super Hybrid (CSH) lineup, including the TIGGO 7, TIGGO 8, TIGGO 9 and ARRIZO 8 PHEV, Chery is making a decisive move into that space in the UAE.
A car you can feel from anywhere
At the centre of the system is the T-Box, a technology layer that bridges the gap between car and smartphone. In practice, that means a Chery CSH owner can lock or unlock their vehicle, adjust the windows, or operate the sunroof, whether they’re stepping out of a meeting downtown or still sitting at home. A tap on the app allows drivers to remotely start or stop the engine and activate climate control, so a car left sitting in the UAE sun can be pre-cooled before anyone steps outside.
The app’s depth goes beyond remote convenience. Real-time vehicle status, from fuel or battery levels to tire pressure and temperature, gives owners a continuous sense of control over their car even when they’re nowhere near it. Detailed driving data, including total mileage, range and consumption, is available at a glance, and for the specific, very relatable problem of forgetting exactly where the car was left, a search function lets the vehicle beep from a distance to help owners locate it. Scheduled journeys and charging reminders add a further layer of planning, while support for multiple vehicles means a household can manage more than one Chery from a single interface.
What we are seeing today is a shift in how people relate to their vehicles. Connectivity is no longer a premium add-on; it’s becoming a fundamental part of the driving experience. With CarLinko, we wanted to make that experience intuitive, practical, and genuinely useful in everyday life.
The ownership journey starts before you ever own the car
That same philosophy, that convenience should follow the customer rather than the other way around, now extends to how Chery UAE customers begin their car-buying journey in the first place. In August 2026, Chery UAE launched a 360° Virtual Showroom, allowing customers to explore the brand’s current UAE lineup, including the TIGGO 9 CSH, TIGGO 9, TIGGO 8, TIGGO 7 CSH, TIGGO 7 Champion, TIGGO 7, TIGGO 4 and Arrizo 5, from a phone, laptop or tablet, at any hour and from anywhere. Users can view each model from every angle, explore interior layouts, review specifications, and compare exterior colour options before stepping into a physical showroom.
Positioned as the first step in the purchase journey rather than a replacement for it, the platform is designed to feed directly into Chery UAE’s physical retail network, helping customers arrive at a showroom for a test drive already informed and further along in their decision. It’s a small but telling signal of where the brand is heading: connectivity now extends well beyond the car itself, shaping the entire relationship between owner and brand, before, during and long after the sale.
A conversation the whole industry is now having
As more of the car, and more of the buying journey, moves onto a phone screen, the questions drivers ask are evolving too. Attention is shifting from what a connected car can do to how that constant flow of location, usage and vehicle data gets handled behind the scenes. That’s becoming a defining conversation across the connected-car industry as a whole, as manufacturers everywhere work to match the pace of new features with the trust customers place in them.
For now, Chery UAE’s focus with CarLinko has been squarely on usability: giving owners clear, real-time visibility into their own vehicle’s status and putting practical control back in their hands, whether that’s beating the summer heat, locating a car in a crowded lot, or keeping tabs on more than one vehicle at once. As connected features continue to expand across the CSH range, how that data is protected, and how transparently that’s communicated to owners, will likely become as much a part of the conversation as the convenience itself.
What’s clear already is that for Chery UAE, the car has become something closer to a device you carry a relationship with, one that starts on a screen long before the engine turns on.
